Comfy Smile Dental ("we", "us", "our") operates this website and communicates with patients about their care. This policy explains what information we collect through this website and through text messages, how we use it, and with whom we share it.
This policy covers our website and our appointment messaging. It does not replace our Notice of Privacy Practices under HIPAA, which governs your protected health information and is available at our office and on request.
Information we collect
- Information you give us, such as your name, telephone number, email address and any message you send us, including through the appointment request form on this website.
- Appointment information, such as the date and time of your visit.
- Website information, such as pages viewed, collected by ordinary web server logs.
How we use your information
- To schedule, confirm and remind you about appointments.
- To respond when you contact us.
- To operate and secure this website.
Text messages
If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, we use it only to confirm and remind you about your appointments, and to respond to your replies about them.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
Your mobile number and your consent to receive text messages are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. We share your number only with the communications provider that delivers the message on our behalf, and only to deliver it.
You may stop messages at any time by replying STOP, and request help by replying HELP.
Who we share information with
- Service providers who work for us, such as our messaging and telephone provider and our practice management software, only as needed to provide that service to us.
- When the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a person.
We do not sell personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep appointment and communication records as long as our professional and legal obligations require, and then dispose of them securely.
Your choices
You may ask us to stop contacting you by text, by telephone or by email. Stopping text messages does not affect your care, and we will reach you another way.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information through it. Information about minor patients is handled as part of their dental record.
Changes
If we change this policy we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
